How to Know if You Need a Mover
The concept of moving is one that can overwhelm the most organized of people. For those average people that want or need to move it can be an almost insurmountable task. This is when it is time to consider hiring a mover. In order to truly determine if the mover is needed, you must evaluate the amount of items that will be transported, the amount of time that exists to move from one place to another and the total distance that will be covered during the move. These are essential in determining if you can perform the move yourself or if it is time to hire a professional mover.
First and foremost look at how much stuff there is to move. The difference between a one or two bedroom apartment full of items and a fully furnished 5000 square foot home is almost impossible to measure. For those that are more on the apartment size it may be easier to move yourself. Larger homes will require more planning and unless it is possible to make it your full time job, moving will require additional help.
For those that do not have the extra time to pack things away neatly and safely, it may not matter how much stuff you have. It is all about the amount of time needed and the amount of time alloted that may require a mover. For example, if you need to move within a short amount of time you will most likely need to hire a mover. Most people cannot take time off of work to do what needs to be done for a big move.
If the size of your current residence is not an issue and there is ample time for you to pack your own things then the distance you are moving may determine whether or not you hire a mover. Those moving across town may simply make a few trips using their car or enlist a few friends to help out. If you are moving across the country it will probably be less of a hassle to hire a mover.
